This Summer, Give Your Child a Breakthrough
Most children in traditional speech therapy make slow, steady progress — one session a week, spread across months or even years. Our summer speech camps work differently.
In just one week, your child could make more progress than in a full year of weekly therapy**. That's not a promise — it's what the research tells us.
Speech sounds are motor skills, just like learning to ride a bike or play the piano. And like any motor skill, the key to rapid progress is repetitive, intensive practice — not occasional sessions spread weeks apart.
Research in motor learning consistently shows that massed, intensive practice leads to faster and more durable skill acquisition than the same amount of practice spread over time. When children practice a sound hundreds of times in a focused, supportive environment, the brain builds and strengthens the neural pathways needed to produce that sound automatically — until it becomes natural.
Traditional weekly therapy, while valuable, simply cannot replicate the density of practice that an intensive program provides. Our camps are specifically designed around this principle: short, daily, high-intensity sessions that accelerate progress in a way weekly therapy cannot match.
Each camp runs Monday through Friday, 10–11am, for one week. Sessions are small by design — a maximum of 4 children per group — so your child gets genuine individual attention within a fun, peer-supported environment.
Our camps are led by licensed speech-language pathologists with specialist expertise in each area. We also have bilingual Spanish-speaking clinicians available.
Three specialist camps are available, each targeting a specific speech goal:
For children who substitute or distort S and Z sounds
The S sound is one of the most common speech sound errors in children, and one of the most responsive to intensive practice. In this camp, children work intensively on correct tongue placement, airflow, and sound production — building the muscle memory they need to carry the sound into everyday speech.
Perfect for: Children who have a lisp, or whose S sounds are unclear or inconsistent.
For children who struggle with the R sound
The R sound is notoriously one of the hardest sounds in English — and one of the most persistent if left unaddressed. Children who avoid or substitute R sounds often carry the habit into adolescence and adulthood. If your child has tried other therapies and still needs help, we've got the solution. Our R Sound Camp uses evidence-based techniques to help children find and lock in correct R production, building consistency across words, sentences, and conversation.
Perfect for: Children who say "wabbit" for "rabbit," "caw" for "car," or whose R sounds are inconsistent or unclear.
For children and teens who stutter or struggle with fluency
Stuttering responds exceptionally well to intensive intervention. In this camp, children work on evidence-based fluency strategies in a warm, supportive, and completely judgment-free environment. Just as importantly, they meet other children who share their experience — which research shows has a powerful impact on confidence and motivation.
Perfect for: Children who repeat sounds or words, get stuck on sounds, or who are beginning to show awareness of or anxiety around their speech.
By the end of the week, most children show measurable improvement in their target sound — and many make the kind of breakthrough that parents describe as a turning point. Progress made through intensive practice also tends to stick — because the motor patterns are more deeply established than those built through infrequent practice.
