Reset the /R/ Summer Camp

What is it?

A fun, therapist-led week of intensive /R/ sound work in a small group setting. The /R/ sound is the hardest speech sound to master. It is complex and variable, with a total of 32 different variations to master. No wonder it is often the last sound that children are working on in speech. 

Unfortunately, with traditional therapy, problems can persist into adulthood.  At Purple Heron, we have developed an intensive program that targets the precise lingual movements needed to master this tricky sound. Your child should not be stuck in speech therapy for years working on /r/.  Our summer camp provides real progress, real confidence and real improvements. One week. One hour. Ready for School. 

Who can it help?

If your child is 5-15 and has been working on their R sound for a while — or you've been told to 'wait and see' — summer is the perfect time to tackle it head-on. Our Reset the R camp is a concentrated, intensive week designed to make the kind of progress that takes months in once-weekly therapy.

What does it involve?

Your child will work alongside 2–3 other kids in a structured, fun environment led by a licensed SLP. By Friday, most kids are producing their R sound in words and phrases — and heading into the new school year with a skill that sticks.

What's Included

• 5 daily sessions (Monday–Friday), 60 minutes each

• Maximum 3–4 children per group

• Led by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

• Daily home practice activities so progress continues after camp

• End-of-week progress summary for parents
